DESCRIPTION:CSA A123.21-20 – Who’s Responsible?Clarifying Professional
Responsibilities for Wind Load Calculations\, Test Reports\, Compliance &
Verification in Low-Slope Roofing\nPresented in Partnership with RCAM\nSt
ructural Design Considerations for Roofing Replacements\nClarifying Profes
sional Roles and Responsibilities\, CSA A123.21 Tests and Reports\, and St
ructural Requirements for Low-Slope Roofing\nIn the design and/or replacem
ent of roofing systems\, particular attention is typically provided for co
ntinuity in air\, vapour\, and waterproofing protection. However\, frequen
tly overlooked are the structural requirements pertaining to roof design a
nd secondary drainage considerations due to uplift\, snow loads\, and rain
loads. Moreover\, successful projects depend on effective coordination an
 d collaboration\, allocation of responsibilities\, and following a practic
al approach from system selection and structural analysis to testing\, ins
tallation\, and verification\nThis presentation will examine the roles and
responsibilities of all project participants and help inform on the desig
n considerations that are required for Code compliance whether your system
  is SBS modified bitumen\, metal\, shingled\, adhered\, and/or mechanicall
y anchored.Although often overlooked in the design process\,  many roofin
g systems will continue to experience changes in climate exposure over the
ir design service life\, another important consideration to ensure that pe
rformance expectations are commensurate with your budget.Case examples wil
l also be provided from the author's files in which unique considerations
were required in the design\, and discussions will benefit designers\, con
 sultants\, manufacturers\, contractors\, and owners alike.\nSpeaker Bios\n
