 nic : un souffle nouveau Fondé en 2012 par le pianiste compositeur Samir 
 Bendimered\, le Sawt Ensemble a longtemps rayonné sur les scènes interna
 tionales\, du Maroc à la France\, avant que les silences forcés de 2020 
 ne viennent freiner son élan. Loin de s'éteindre\, le projet s'est d'abo
 rd resserré en Sawt trio avant de renaître aujourd'hui dans une formatio
 n quintet au sommet de son art. Accueilli en résidence à Arsonic pour fi
 xer l'empreinte de ce nouveau chapitre\, le Sawt Ensemble présente un pro
 gramme où la résistance et la résilience culturelle se fait musique. Le
  Jazz en version originelle : L'arabisation des standards Le cœur de ce n
 ouveau répertoire réside dans un geste artistique fort : réapproprier l
 es grands standards du jazz en les parant de la langue arabe. Sous la plum
 e et les arrangements de Samir Bendimered\, les classiques perdent leur ve
 rnis d'outre-Atlantique pour épouser les mélismes et la poésie de l'Ori
 ent : Summertime devient Kana El Sayf\, Strange Fruit se transforme en l
 ’émouvant Achjar Al Janoub You go to my head habite les corps sous le t
 itre Taskoun Jassadi. You’ve Changed sous le titre Taghayart Même le r
 épertoire classique est bousculé : le célèbre Nahandove de Poulenc tro
 uve ici un écho nouveau dans les modes et titre traduit par : Nahawand. E
 t un chant Séfarade Ladino : Por La Tu Puerta arrangé en 2008 par Samir 
 Bendimered Une fusion organique Entre compositions originales et relecture
 s audacieuses\, le Sawt Ensemble navigue à la lisière du Jazz Fusion et 
 des Musiques d'Orient. La voix envoûtante d'Amal Sdiri dialogue avec les 
 envolées d'Ahmed Hawwash (Sax\, Clarinette\, Nay\, Duduk)\, soutenue par 
 une section rythmique d'une grande finesse : le Oud de Moufadhal Adoum\, l
 a contrebasse d'Aykut Dursen et le piano de Samir Bendimered. Plus qu'un c

  \n\n	 \n\n	Van Samarkand naar Arsonic: een nieuwe wind Het Sawt Ensembl
 e\, in 2012 opgericht door pianist en componist Samir Bendimered\, schitte
 rde lange tijd op internationale podia\, van Marokko tot Frankrijk\, voord
 at de gedwongen stilte van 2020 een rem zette op zijn elan. Het project st
 ierf echter niet uit\, maar werd eerst omgevormd tot het Sawt Trio\, om va
 ndaag de dag herboren te worden in een kwintet dat op het hoogtepunt van z
 ijn kunnen staat. Het Sawt Ensemble is te gast in Arsonic om de stempel va
 n dit nieuwe hoofdstuk te drukken en presenteert een programma waarin cult
 ureel verzet en veerkracht worden omgezet in muziek. Jazz in zijn oorspron
 kelijke vorm: de arabisering van de standards De kern van dit nieuwe reper
 toire ligt in een krachtig artistiek gebaar: de grote jazzstandards zich o
 pnieuw toe-eigenen door ze te voorzien van de Arabische taal. Onder de pen
  en in de arrangementen van Samir Bendimered verliezen de klassiekers hun 
 trans-Atlantische glans om zich aan te passen aan de melismen en de poëzi
 e van het Oosten: Summertime wordt Kana El Sayf\, Strange Fruit verandert 
 in het ontroerende Achjar Al Janoub en You go to my head bezielt de licham
 en onder de titel Taskoun Jassadi. You’ve Changed onder de titel Taghaya
 rt. Zelfs het klassieke repertoire wordt opgeschud: het beroemde Nahandove
  van Poulenc vindt hier een nieuwe weerklank in de toonsoorten en de titel
  vertaald als: Nahawand. En een Sefardisch Ladino-lied: „Por La Tu Puert
 a“\, gearrangeerd in 2008 door Samir Bendimered. Een organische fusie. T
 ussen originele composities en gedurfde herinterpretaties laveert het Sawt
  Ensemble op de grens van jazzfusion en oosterse muziek. De betoverende st
 em van Amal Sdiri gaat in dialoog met de melodische hoogten van Ahmed Haww
 ash (sax\, klarinet\, nay\, duduk)\, ondersteund door een uiterst verfijnd
 e ritmesectie: de oud van Moufadhal Adoum\, de contrabas van Aykut Dursen 
 en de piano van Samir Bendimered. Meer dan een concert\, is het een uitnod
 iging om universele melodieën te herontdekken in een nieuw licht\, waar d

  \n\n	From Samarkand to Arsonic: a breath of fresh air Founded in 2012 by
  pianist and composer Samir Bendimered\, the Sawt Ensemble has long graced
  international stages\, from Morocco to France\, before the enforced silen
 ces of 2020 brought its momentum to a halt. Far from fading away\, the pro
 ject first consolidated into the Sawt Trio before being reborn today as a 
 quintet at the peak of its artistry. Welcomed into residence at Arsonic to
  cement the legacy of this new chapter\, the Sawt Ensemble presents a prog
 ramme where cultural resistance and resilience are transformed into music.
  Jazz in its original form: The Arabisation of standards At the heart of t
 his new repertoire lies a powerful artistic gesture: reappropriating the g
 reat jazz standards by dressing them in the Arabic language. Through the p
 en and arrangements of Samir Bendimered\, the classics shed their transatl
 antic veneer to embrace the melismas and poetry of the East: ‘Summertime
 ’ becomes ‘Kana El Sayf’\, ‘Strange Fruit’ transforms into the m
 oving ‘Achjar Al Janoub’\, and ‘You Go to My Head’ takes hold of t
 he body under the title ‘Taskoun Jassadi’. You’ve Changed under the 
 title Taghayart. Even the classical repertoire is given a fresh twist: Pou
 lenc’s famous Nahandove finds a new resonance here in the modes and is t
 itled Nahawand. And a Sephardic Ladino song: *Por La Tu Puerta*\, arranged
  in 2008 by Samir Bendimered. An organic fusion. Blending original composi
 tions with bold reinterpretations\, the Sawt Ensemble navigates the bounda
 ry between jazz fusion and Eastern music. Amal Sdiri’s spellbinding voic
 e engages in a dialogue with the soaring melodies of Ahmed Hawwash (saxoph
 one\, clarinet\, nay\, duduk)\, supported by a rhythm section of great fin
 esse: Moufadhal Adoum on the oud\, Aykut Dursen on double bass and Samir B
